Responsibility for Rental Vehicle
Winnipeg U-Drive holds the renter responsible for the safe return of the rental vehicle in the same condition as it was rented, except for normal wear and tear.
Be sure any estimated damage to the vehicle has been recorded properly before leaving the rental location.If any new damage is found on the vehicle when returned that is not shown on the rental agreement, the customer will be deemed responsible and will be charged for the damage.
If the vehicle is returned damaged Winnipeg U-Drive has the authority to pick the repair shop of choice. The renter will be responsible to pay the full amount of damage to Winnipeg U-Drive unless a deductible or additional coverage is applied to the rental.Unless prohibited by law, a renter may be held responsible for all damages, including loss of use, should the vehicle be damaged in an accident, stolen or vandalized. Whether who is at fault in the accident, the renter may be asked to pay for the damage up to and including the total cost of replacing the vehicle in case of a total wreck or loss.

Driver's License Requirements
Drivers must have a full valid 5 class drivers license at the time of rental. Beginner licenses are not accepted.

Gas Policy
All vehicles come with a full tank of fuel at the time of rental with no refunds on gas.
The renter can return the vehicle with a full tank of gas or pay Winnipeg U-Drive at the end of the rental for gas used but not replaced. Price per gallon/litre will be higher than local fuel prices.

Mechanical Problems or Accidents
You must notify Winnipeg U-Drive within 24 hours of the accident, and you will likely be required to complete an accident report for Winnipeg U-Drive's records and your own.
Minimum Rental Period
Any rental of less than 24 hours will be charged a full day's rate. If a rental is returned earlier then the expected due back date, no refund will be issued.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
The Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) can be added at the time of rental for $2.95 per day plus taxes. Rate includes a one time $15 policy fee per rental.
Winnipeg U-Drive provides the renter and authorized driver(s) a way to waive any responsibility for loss or damage to the rental vehicle, through the purchase of the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW).
Down-time is also waived when purchasing the Collision Damage Waiver. (A vehicle that is rented then damaged would result in the renter paying for the vehicle each day thereafter until repaired).
If additional coverage is declined at the time of rental, most rates come free with a $500 deductible per occurrence, and NO coverage for down-time.
The CDW does not cover any other additional charges, surcharges or fees.
The renter is still responsible for all towing charges, lost keys, fuel services and tire replacements on the rental.

Airport Fee
Winnipeg U-Drive does not charge an airport fee and can be 30% less than IN-Terminal services.

Winnipeg U-Drive will provide a free shuttle service from the Winnipeg International Airport to Winnipeg U-Drive at 167 McPhillips Street.

Late Charge
Vehicles are rented on a daily (24 hour) basis. After 24 hours, a full-day charge will apply. Rates are subject to change if vehicle is not returned on the date and time agreed upon at time of reservation and rental.
Sales Tax
This is a mandatory sales tax for Manitoba, which charges the renter for G.S.T and P.S.T on the entire rental agreement.
Vehicle Licencing Fee
This is a recovery of Winnipeg U-Drive's average annual cost to license and register its fleet in the province of Manitoba. Average charge of $0.75 to $1.95 per day.
Smoking Policy
All vehicles are non-smoking.

$15.00 flat fee.
Collision Damage Waiver / Roadside Max Coverage
The Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with Roadside Max Coverage (RMC) can be added at the time of rental for $4.90 per day plus taxes. Rate includes a one time $15 policy fee per rental.

Cancelation Policy
Failure to cancel a reservation at least 48 hours before scheduled pickup will result in an $85 CAN fee.
Geographic Restrictions
Cross border traffic beyond Manitoba: With permission from Winnipeg U-Drive office only. Permission may be granted if the vehicle remains within 400 km of the renting location. The renter will be responsible for paying all towing costs that may occur, if no extra coverage has been chosen.
